Our Mission
The POTENCIAR programme addresses accountability and governance issues undermining the delivery of basic services in Mozambique. Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO), the programme contributes to national efforts for increased state transparency, accountability, and responsiveness to civic demands, and improved human development outcomes. It develops and supports initiatives bringing together citizens, civil society, and state actors to address specific issues affecting the lives of citizens through collaboration of state and non-state actors, developing strategic partnerships and working closely policy and decision makers. POTENCIAR’s work is underpinned by robust research and analytical work.
POTENCIAR is a catalyst for change, ‘bridging’ gaps between key stakeholders and provides a platform to identify issues, design solutions, and promote joint work and effective collaboration. The programme’s primary focus is on maternal and child health.
